Is My Car Broken?
Our Vehicles and Bodies Share a lot in Common
If you are currently living in the Fargo and Moorhead area, you know that when your body just doesn’t quite feel right, like when you experience persistent aches and pains, that something is wrong. Left unchecked, oftentimes a more serious medical condition may result, one that becomes expensive to treat. Well, at Auto Solutions, and after 10 years of expertly and accurately “diagnosing and treating” a wide-variety of vehicles for our valued customers, we’ve come to realize that our bodies, and cars, share a lot in common when they are trying to warn us that something just isn’t right.
Our goal at Auto Solutions is that you don’t unexpectedly encounter a time when your car won’t start, or when it dies on the road some bitterly-cold, Fargo winter’s night. As the saying goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” And, none of us needs the added stress if, and when, a serious break down situation arises. To effectively prevent those occurrences from happening, use this list of vehicle “warning signs” that our expert team of technicians compiled.

Look for these Key Vehicle Warning Signs before it’s too Late:
- Unusual Sounds– Use the “3 C’s” method and be alert for any clicking, clanking or clunking coming from your vehicle. Have you noticed any squeaking noises when turning your steering wheel, or when your engine is running? Also, be alert for “whooshing” sounds like when air is escaping from a sealed compartment.
- Unusual Sights– Be cognizant of anything visual that just doesn’t seem right, like leaking fluids on the engine, or found underneath on the pavement after your car has been sitting for a few hours, or even less. Are all of your vehicle’s signal and brake lights working properly? And, if the “check engine” light comes on, bring it in quickly.
- Unusual Smells– Stay alert for any annoying, noticeable smells when operating your car. These can include gasoline, oil or exhaust-related odors.
- An Unusual Feel- Just like your body, you know how your vehicle “feels” when operating under normal conditions. If your car begins to shake, vibrate or shimmy, including while gripping the steering wheel, you may have a serious underlying problem.
